Afterglow, aft èr-glō, n. the glow often seen in the sky after sunset.

The remembrance of beauty just passed, becoming a new beauty of its own.

One summer night, in a disaster beaten Sheffield, a community meets for a carnival as two people living with visions of lovers see each other for the first time. Wanting to reconnect and meet the Vision-In-Their-Head, the two traverse the post-apocalyptic undergrowth to finally meet. As the secrets of the steelworks start to seep out, the pair must go to great lengths to try and live the life they dream of.

Set to the score of Jon Boden’s 2017 concept album Afterglow, the show examines what it means to find your family in a time and space where all is lost and all that we have to hope for is a better tomorrow.
